Earlier this year, Busara sponsored a community football tournament known as The Vortex Cup, held in the Ngara area. Organized by one of Busara’s young volunteers, Hassan, the tournament was everything you would expect from enthusiastic, charged boys and so much more! 

Being the first activity of the year, it reminded & proved to us why sports have been an eternal powerful tool for bringing people together, especially for social impact. The goal of the Vortex Cup was to bring young boys together in a safe, positive space and inspire values that extend far beyond the game. Should we have organized a seminar or workshop, it is almost certain that not as many young people would have shown up, moreso, with the level of vigor and willingness to engage. 

On display was not just talent but a sense of community. The boys showed passion beyond football. It was about being together — celebrating wins, supporting teammates, and learning skills such as discipline & collaboration through experience.
