Elimu (Education) Program

Elimu translates to "Education" in Swahili, and our program focuses on a student's social background and talents rather than just grades. We empower the community by providing stipends to madrasa teachers, allowing them to focus on instruction rather than financial survival. By nurturing both learners and educators, we aim to build a foundation for lifelong success in our communities.

Scholastic and meal support

We target primary schools and madrasas where food shortages and lack of resources severely limit a child's ability to learn. With nearly half of Kenya’s primary students facing malnutrition, these shortages have caused an 11% drop in attendance and thousands of dropouts. We provide meals and scholastic equipment to keep these children in school and improve their academic focus

Partial Schorlaship

As a growing organization, we view our current limitations as stepping stones toward our long-term goal of full sponsorship. We currently provide university and college freshmen with support for accommodation, monthly stipends, and initial shopping. This assistance ensures that financial barriers do not prevent students from beginning their higher education journey.

High School Education Support

This project supports students in slums and rural areas where literacy rates are critically low due to extreme poverty. Many students are forced to miss school to work, further widening the education gap in communities where literacy averages only 27-28%. We address this by providing school fee support, helping talented young Kenyans stay in school and build brighter futures.

You can help in the Elimu program by volunteering, donating, or fully sponsoring activities. Support in form of mentor/tutor, financial aid, sponsoring specific activities such as building educational centers, scholarships and more. Your support will aid in providing quality education and improve the lives of students and teachers in the community
